Angel Collage

Monique’s creative outlet is sewing and creating, a craft she has practiced for over 50 years. It is both her passion and her love language, and she pours her heart and soul into everything she makes.

Recently, she was having coffee with a dear friend, who shared that she had been cleaning out her daughter’s closet—a difficult task, as her daughter had transitioned to the spirit world a few years earlier. She found herself thinking about what meaningful could be done with the daughter’s favorite clothes; making a simple pillow from a shirt did not feel sufficient.

When she returned home and began working on a new project—an angel collage—an idea came to her: what if she created an angel out of her friend’s daughter’s clothing? Her friend loved the idea, and that is how it all began.

The most meaningful part of creating this piece was the sense that the daughter was present throughout the process—guiding her on what to adjust and even bringing moments of humor. It was an absolute privilege for her to create such a beautiful and lasting memory for the family.
